The ever present mistery of woman is hidden in her character—and is described with the concept of feminity. No matter young or old, women are women. So what does it mean to be a woman? There are all too many answers, however, we will never be satisfied since the female face always hides mistery unexplored: in their details, the glimmer of eyes, the curves of the face. Zsuzsi Csiszér  invites us to explore these details in her portrait series, through her personal magnifying glass, depicting „woman” as the paradign of beauty and subtlety.
The genre of portrait and faces appeared earlier on in  Zsuzsi Csiszér’s oeuvre,  we can just think back of  Patrik watches the bubbles fly. In her most recent works  she is looking for, and sometimes questions, the secrets and inner world of the characters hidden beneath a person’s face. Ripping the upper layer of the face, she opens up the character as a subjetive and objective reality. She attempts to turn toward the inner reality and look beneath the faces. What is it that the surface hides from us? Is there any depth? What do we find under the skin?
The pictoral representation of these conceptual questions becomes particularly intriguing through the play of spatial dimensions, the expression of distance and proximity, surfacing in different textures. This play breaks the continuity of skin, as though we tore our wallpaper off the wall.  The encounter of different materials within the same frame creates a powerful spatial effect. The pictoral expression of matter operates as an allegory The external gloss might cover numb emptiness or valuable inner tresures, we might strip this cover in a moment to uncover a reality freed of illusions. She paints the faces in close-up, filling the whole picture plane, however, her pictoral style so reminiscent of photography has evolved to a more subtle form in this series, detached from her earlier „pop” series.
